Data Migration (or data porting) refers to moving data from one set of tables to another.  This service is often used when a small business is purchasing a new software program and wants to keep (and use) the data they have collected over the past years.

Benefits of Data Migration

  • Less staff time spent manually re-keying patient/customer data.
  • Likelihood of typos is much lower.
  • New program will have useful / meaningful data much sooner.

Challenges / Pitfalls

In some cases the "quality" of the existing data is so poor that migrating it into a new program does not make sense. An example of this situation would be patient/customer data that is aged many years. In this example, much of the address / phone / contact info would be useless.  Apex BrainWare Solutions is uniquely poised to help you determine when the quality of the data is not worth saving.

Price

Initial evaluation of the data is done at no charge. This can be done via email, or having you send the data on CD.  

Upon data inspection, we will provide you with a written quote and stick to that price.

Typical data conversion is $350.00.  For larger data sets, 10,000 records and above the price increases to an average of $500.00
